I’m especially enjoying this episode of The Talk Show. The reminder that these guys are running sites that have been around longer than Facebook and Twitter is important. You can post content on Medium, Facebook, and Twitter, but chances are, they’re not going to always be around in the way that privately owned sites are. I’m a huge supporter of the open web and misguided persons like Joe Hewitt are plain wrong. It’s not true that “The Apples, Googles, and Facebooks of the world have all the power to decide if web exists.” They might have the power to decide what’s popular for a season, but they don’t control the web. We do. Each one of us. It’s up to us.
